UES DAD was built to be a digital extension of our physical neighborhood. We want this app to feel like running into a friend at the coffee shop or the playground. To keep this community a positive, helpful place for all local fathers, we just ask everyone to keep a few simple principles in mind.
1. Be a Good Neighbor
Treat every member with the exact same respect you would show them if you bumped into them on Lexington Ave. We're all here to offer advice, share a laugh, and support one another in the shared journey of fatherhood in the city. Let's keep the interactions kind, helpful, and neighborly.
2. Keep it Fun & Family-Focused
The primary focus of this community is to highlight fun family activities, share parenting tips, and discuss neighborhood happenings. Let's keep the language friendly and ensure shared content is appropriate for a dad-focused community. This is our space to unwind, connect, and be dads.
3. Leave Politics Aside
New York is a vibrant, diverse city with many different viewpoints. However, we'd love for UES DAD to be a relaxing escape focused on local parenting, rather than a space for national or local political debates. Let's leave the politics at the door and focus on what brings us together.
4. Keep it Genuine (No Spam)
This is a community, not a billboard. We're all for supporting local businesses—especially if you own a spot that benefits UES families! We just ask that you introduce it organically or offer a fun "Local Perk" to the group, rather than treating the feed like an advertising board. Let's prioritize authentic conversations.
5. The Market Rules
When buying, selling, or trading baby gear in The Market, transparency and good communication are key. Remember, you are trading with your literal neighbors. Give accurate descriptions of your items and try to be punctual for meetups—it goes a long way in building neighborhood trust!
6. Keeping the Vibe Right
We rely on everyone to help maintain the positive, helpful spirit of UES DAD. While we hope we never have to step in, we do reserve the right to gently moderate content—and in very rare cases, members—that consistently detract from the community experience. If you ever see an interaction that doesn't feel right, just give us a friendly heads-up using the in-app report button so we can take a look.
We're glad you're here.
Thank you for helping us make the Upper East Side the best place to raise a family.
